Meet Our Wedding Florists
We are not just sisters, we are a team.
We are twin sisters Sarah & Rachel born and raised in Western North Carolina who discovered a love of flowers in our own backyard. This love of plants and flowers guided us to attend North Carolina State University for Horticulture Science & Agriculture Education. What started as a hobby has become a passion to provide locally sourced flowers at reasonable rates for all wedding budgets.
We consider ourselves “flower craftsmen” because our floral designs are crafted organically. Because we are horticulturists, we have the knowledge of identifying uncommon flowers and plants that are not often seen in floral design—giving our floral arrangements a certain uniqueness that helps reflect the personality of our brides and grooms.
What’s the Benefit of Working with a Horticulturist?
We believe having a horticultural background provides us with a better foundation in floral design. We not only have knowledge in the designing of flower arrangements, but how flowers and plants function during the growing stage and post-harvest stage, which is important for the longevity of flowers. We also have knowledge of a wide variety of plants not commonly known for floral design that we like to add to arrangements when possible, which gives our designs certain uniqueness.
We love getting to know people and learning their story. We believe this blends well when we get to know our clients and their story to help bring their ideas to fruition.
where being amoung wildflowers, we feel most at home & creative.
WE’ve Done a lot together!
Rachel Kersey
If you love flowers, dogs, and The Office then you’ve picked the right florist (ha ha!) I’m Rachel and I co-own Double Bloom with my twin, Sarah. We both attended NC State and I received my BS degree in Horticulture Science. I’ve taught in the public education system for 5 years but stepped back in 2021 to raise my son, Charlie. He’s our newest Double Blooms employee. I truly enjoy the process of growing & cultivating flowers and other plants all while listening to my favorite true crime podcasts.
